Sgt. Bill Watson of the Portsmouth, VA, Sheriff's Office. The unit, which was formed in 1992 rides only Harley's. Sheriff Gary W. Waters said "I would rather have one Harley instead of 10 other bikes." Bill sits atop his 1993 FLHTP, "Brown Sugar."

Sonoma County, CA, Off Road Motor Unit. The unit patrols the rural off road areas of the county, as well as the parks and bike paths. They also work special event security. Officer Ron Carosella has been a member of the Greenwich, GT, Police Department since 1989. During the past three years he has been part of the motor squad, along with being a member of the Honor Guard and an EMT instructor. Ofc. Carosella is pictured here with his Harley, taken at the Greenwich Salute to Veteran's Day, which is held each year in July.

Members of the Santa Monica, CA, Police Department's Motorcycle Enforcement Unit, Officer Sandra Terhune (left) and Captain Jacqueline Seabrooks (right) sitting astride their Harley-Davidson Road Kings. The Santa Monica PD is one of the few agencies in which members of the Department's command group routinely ride and actively engage in traffic safety efforts. The PD has also implemented a program whereby former motor officers are encouraged to remain active in motorcycle enforcement efforts by participating in the Supplemental Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP).

Rick Krummen, Cincinnati

Rick Krummen who has been on the Cincinnati Police Motor Unit since 1987, will be retiring in January, 2002 after 31+ years of service. Rick received his police motor instructor certification in 1994 from the Northwestern University Traffic Institute and Harley-Davidson by Nick Pierce. Rick is holding the G.I. Joe model who rides a replica of the Harley motor that Rick has been riding for the last 4 years.

R.E. Yantorno, Narberth

R.E. Yantorno, Jr. started in Law Enforcement in 1980 after finishing his tour in the military. He joined the Narberth, PA, Police Department in 1989 and is a graduate of Philadelphia Highway Patrol "Wheel" School and the FBI's Intercounty Detective Acadamy. He is also a Field Training Officer and a Paramedic. His duties include Platoon Investigations and routine patrol with focus on the traffic enforcement, parades, and escorts.

K-9 "Dan" is a 74 lb Malinois imported from Czechoslovakia. Officer L.E. Race and "Dan" search for bombs, missing people, and do area searches. K-9 "Dan" also does tracking, article searches, and patrol work. "Dan" has been serving since August, 1995.

Officer Bob Yantorno and officers from the Philadelphia PD at the Survivors Run in North Wildwood, NJ. The Survivors Run is in memory of fallen officers everywhere, with a special sympathy to the family of Thomas Barone, shot in the line of duty, from the Norristown PD.
